yarrl at Invest Cuffs 2025: on strategies for effective business scaling

March 28, 2025 during the prestigious conference Invest Cuffs 2025, President of the Management Board of yarrl SA — Sławomir Połukord — took part in an expert panel within Investor Zones. The topic of the conversation was:
“Organic Growth vs. Acquisition Growth — How to Build a Business?”
The discussion was moderated by Marcin Tuszkiewicz (CEO Squaber.com), and the panel was also attended by Tobiasz Wybraniec — President of Digitree Group SA.
The strategic question: how to grow?
In a dynamic business world, company development is an unavoidable topic — but What is the path to choose to develop effectively and responsibly?
During the panel, two main business scaling models were discussed:
- Organic growth — that is, the gradual building of the organization through the development of competencies, resources and team
- Growth through acquisition — acquisitions of other entities or organised parts of undertakings (PPAs) which enable rapid scale-up of operations.
Practice, not theory: yarrl's experience in acquisitions
The panelists' statements were based not on theory, but on experiences from the life of the organization. In the case of yarrl, the topic of growth through the acquisition is particularly close — the company was created as a result of the merger of Unima 2000 Systemy Teleinformatyczne SA and the software house PTag.
This strategic combination of experience in technology solutions with advanced programming competencies has created an organization ready to scale in a new formula.
Another important step on this path was acquisition of an organized part of the enterprise (ZCP), manufacturer of, among others, an innovative low-code platform. Thanks to this, yarrl gained not only an additional team of specialists, but also a finished technological product — with great growth potential and ready for use in modern digital solutions. As Sławomir Połukord stressed:
“yarrl was created as a result of a combination of different competencies and organizational cultures. Right from the start, we've been an example of how well-thought-out integrations and acquisitions can be a powerful growth driver — provided they have a clear vision and long-term strategy behind them.”
This is practical proof that growth through acquisition can be not only effective, but also healthy for the organization — if it is conducted in a conscious way, with respect for the values and identities of both parties.
Common conclusions, despite different markets
Although the companies represented by the panelists — yarrl and Digitree — operate in different markets, their views on growth strategies were very convergent.
Both Sławomir Polukord and Tobiasz Wybraniec stressed that the key importance is:
- conscious decision making,
- flexibility in the choice of development tools,
- Adapting the strategy to the stage at which the organization is located.
There is no one “right” way — there are different contexts and needs.
Summary: Thoughtful growth is the foundation
yarrl's participation in Invest Cuffs 2025 was an opportunity not only to present our perspective, but also to sharing knowledge and listening to the experiences of other business leaders.
The panel showed that both organic growth and acquisitions can be effective scaling tools — provided that they are consistent with the company's DNA and its long-term goals.
